According to mibz the Japanese automaker Nissan hinted on an interview with the British publication autocar that the next generation GT-R might be 100% electric. This comes as a surprise since part of the vehicle's beauty lies on its twin turbo engine. Now that's a sound any car enthusiast can truly appreciate. But wait a moment, isn't this super car marketed to car enthusiasts? Removing the GTR's twins would be like taking away communion from Christianity; the wings off of an airplane and the U.S. constitution and declaration of independence from the American people. Would this move be a smart decision for the automaker? Would the rumored 100% electric GT-R be as appealing as its twin turbo predecessor to you? Lmao at the rc car representation of the skyline. And awesome vid shows the potential. Now heres the thing. Some people say u dont mix electric and sports cars and things like that. If ur gonna run an evo vs a prius yeh understandable. But now look at the tesla roadster. Curb weight 3200lbs 288hp and 295tq. But zero emissions bc its a fully electric car tht gets 245miles to a charge. And goes 0-60mph in 3.7 secs. Any car enthusiast would love those #s and output even if it did come from an electric car. Still the gtr bein the iconic image and powerhouse it is. Removin its twin turbo engine is like takin away sun from a flower fire from cavemen Money from bill gates water from the oceans and the stones out o machu picha. It would be a crime against nature. A sin against god. An abomination.
Lol... that's all true but I have to add that part of the emotion of driving a car (on a personal level) is hearing the exhaust blast as you fully open the throttle. The Tesla is an awesome ride, no question about it but I still feel like the fun factor will be turned down a notch by switching to a silent electric engine. That's why for the hefty price of a GTR I'll stick to a twin-turbo, gas powered engine.
Yeh i love turbo but the tesla sounds lik a supercharged little monster. Listen up
